BECOMING A FOUNDING MEMBER

 Eight years ago, Clayworks started the tour and more recently a committee of potters have worked to keep it going.  Now we have formalized our organization as a nonprofit corporation with the State of Virginia.  With your help we’ll finish this new journey as a Federally approved 501(3)(c) nonprofit in early 2026.

OUR MISSION

The mission of RVA Clay is to promote the appreciation of and participation in ceramic arts through studio tours, gatherings, and public outreach. To enhance the cultural and economic health of the region.  Building community through the ceramic art, RVA Clay continues to be a leading source of information, education, inspiration, and energy for clay artists and patrons.

Artist Member - $75, goes up $100 1/1/2026

Benefits

1. $25 off Membership fee for Founding Members - for artist members signing up during the initial membership drive (10/17/25-12/31/25)

2. Free participation in the Founding Members Exhibition at Art Works - for artist members signing up during the initial membership drive only.

3. $25 off RVA Clay Tour participation fee 

4. Member-Only mentorship opportunities with participating RVA Clay Members

5. Two Member (+ Guest) Meetup events/year

6. 10% off Speedball products and an additional 5% off your order of Standard Clay at Clayworks.

7. RVA Clay Member stickers and magnets. Founding Member buttons for those that sign up during the initial membership drive.

8. A listing with links to your social media pages on the website’s member page.

9. Featured posts on Social Media.

Responsibilities of Artist Membership:

Artist members are asked to commit to 6 hours/per year volunteering to help with the tour or other member events. Based on your skill set those hours can be applied to helping various committee functions. Please choose your area of interest when filling out your membership application.

Community Members - $50, goes up $75 1/1/2026

Thank you for your support of our mission. Whether you are a collector of pottery or simply love and appreciate the artisans who work with clay, you help this organization promote and serve those that do. Your membership will ensure that programs like the clay tour will promote potters and clay artists and help educate and enrich our local community.

Student members - $35

Student memberships are available to anyone enrolled in a high school, college or university.
